When I wrote the Best Buddies song ”BE A TEAM BUDDY”, it was out of 2 basically SELFISH MOTIVES! Lol!
First, I envisioned my children working together peacefully and being capable of figuring out some challenges, TOGETHER & ON THEIR OWN! Haha! That can sound impossible in some seasons… but have patience, it will happen!
Secondly, I JUST WANTED THEM TO STOP MAKING MESSES & CLEAN UP AFTER THEMSELVES! And all the parents cried, “Let it be!”
Sometimes, it’s great to just make life ABOUT YOU! Right?? I don’t know why this silly mood has taken over, but read on… there’s a life-changing principle here for our families!

YAY! I would say that is “breaking it down” for our children who have developed an aversion to cleaning up after themselves!! Children have to be taught to be aware of their actions & responsibilities. THE SOONER AND MORE EFFECTIVELY YOU COACH YOUR LITTLE ONES IN THIS AREA, THE BETTER IT IS FOR EVERYONE!!
Good news! The video of this song (on Best Buddies Video #2, “Sorry I’m Allergic toGriping”) actually show the kids illustrating how to do these “fetes of teamwork”?
You’re probably thinking these ideas aren’t so “revolutionary “ for your little ones (or kids of any age!) Haven’t we nagged them 24-7 to pick up their toys & clothes, and to keep things orderly? Of course, you have!! Good job! Just know, it’s a challenge for every family!
But the question is simple: SO WHY NOT PLAY A SONG ( like “Be A Team Buddy”) THROUGHOUT THE DAY THAT UNIQUELY DOWNLOADS A NEW AND REAL AWARENESS OF TAKING RESPONSIBILITY? It’s a no-brainer, right!? Smart parents take any help they can get!
All humor aside: Best Buddies Music is a very real and effective SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR FAMILIES!
These songs SAY WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN SAYING to your kids in a fun, memorable and effective way. In other words, they are reinforcing your family’s most basic and fundamental core values

Parenting entails so many areas, including personality, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual development. Wow! Big job, dad, mom & grandparents! As I look back on raising our 7 children, I see “gaps”and mistakes I made that maybe you can learn from.
For this blog today, let me focus on this thought: GIVE YOUR CHILDREN A TEAM BUDDY MENTALITY THAT BEGINS AT HOME. TEACH THEM TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR KEEPING THINGS ORDERLY & BEING CONSIDERATE OF ONE ANOTHER! You are building a great family culture, your children will thank you for someday!
May our children take pride and strength in knowing their family members are their best friends, their greatest cheerleaders, and their most loyal and enthusiastic buddies! SEE IT! BELIEVE IT! And NEVER GIVE UP!
